Welcome to CNHN

CNHN was started in 2020 to assist local families with expenses during the pandemic. An anonymous donor from Canaan kicked off the fundraising with a $10,000 donation that was matched by donations from the community in 2020. In 2021, our 501 ( c) (3) non-profit status was obtained and an additional donation was made by the original donor.

In 2021, our 501 ( c) (3) non-profit status was obtained and an additional donation was made by the original donor. Despite an easing of pandemic restrictions, many families are still struggling and our work will continue. 

Canaan residents have an emergency fund to provide temporary financial assistance to neighbors in need. This fund will contribute to the well-being, stability and safety of the community and is intended to survive the pandemic in order to meet the future needs of community residents.

Canaan residents have an emergency fund to provide temporary financial assistance to neighbors in need. This fund will contribute to the well-being, stability and safety of the community and is intended to survive the pandemic in order to meet the future needs of community residents.

Many families in our community have been helped thus far with expenses like mortgage payments, rent, fuel, medical bills, etc. Families fill out a simple application to receive $500 to help pay the family's expenses and can apply during the first half and again during the second half of the year.  Bills are paid directly by CNHN.
